A serious incident has been reported in Korça, where police have arrested a surgeon at the regional hospital, following accusations of sexual harassment against a 21-year-old woman.
The police report against doctor Nikolla Nunka was reportedly filed by the young woman herself.
According to preliminary information, the young woman had presented to the emergency room due to severe abdominal pain and vomiting. After medical examinations, it was decided that she would undergo surgery for her appendix.
Referring to the complaint made by the 21-year-old woman, the 72-year-old doctor, who was the surgeon responsible for her treatment, is suspected of having sexually harassed her during medical check-ups, touching her private parts under the pretext of an examination.
After the young woman's complaint, the Korça police took her testimony at the hospital, where she remains hospitalized, and then escorted the doctor, proceeding with his arrest.
Meanwhile, investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident continue.
