A 33-year-old Albanian man, who had been on the run for more than four years, has been arrested and sentenced to three years and seven months in prison in Italy.
He had previously been on the run and was wanted for a long list of crimes. In recent days, officers tracked him down at a hotel in the city. The arrested man was illegally in Italy, with an extensive criminal and police record.
The order comes from final convictions for crimes against property, fraud and drug trafficking.
After being identified, he was transferred to the Canton Mombello prison to serve a sentence of 3 years and 7 months. Investigations are underway to determine who may have helped him escape until his arrest.
Given the 33-year-old's social dangerousness, his propensity for crime and his numerous criminal records, the Chief of Police of the province of Brescia, Paolo Sartori, has issued an expulsion order against him from the national territory, which will come into effect at the end of serving his sentence.
