Wanted by Italy, 43-year-old arrested in Pogradec (Video)

A 43-year-old man, wanted by Italian authorities, was arrested in Pogradec with the aim of extradition to Italy.

Police announced that 43-year-old Ergys Likaj was arrested as part of the "Operation 27" operation.

"As a result of the exchange of information and coordination of work with Italian counterparts, the services of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force (Fast Albania), within the framework of the operation "Operacionalja 27", located in Pogradec and provisionally arrested the internationally wanted citizen, EL, 43 years old, resident of Durrës," the Police announced.

The Court of Rome/Italy, in 2016, has assigned the security measure "Prison Arrest" to this citizen, for the criminal offenses of "Criminal Organization" and "Drug Trafficking", provided for by the Italian Criminal Code.

Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Rome to finalize the extradition procedure of this citizen to Italy.
