
An 85-year-old man from Himara was injured by a hand grenade today. It is learned that the elderly man was working on an area planted with olive trees when, without being aware, he touched the grenade, which was located in the roots of the olive tree.
The hand grenade exploded and injured the 85-year-old man in the leg. The elderly man was taken to the Vlora hospital and is receiving medical attention and is out of danger.
Meanwhile, the police and the investigation team are at the scene, working to fully unravel the incident.
"Himarë/Preliminary information: Today, in the "Livadhë" neighborhood, Himarë, on a piece of land (olive grove), citizen KK, 85 years old, while working on his land, suffered injuries to his leg as a result of the explosion of a hand grenade, which was hidden in the roots of an olive tree. Citizen KK is currently in the Vlorë Regional Hospital, out of danger to his life. The investigative group is carrying out investigative actions to fully clarify and document the incident ," the police announced.
