A kidnapping followed by physical violence and threats for money has been uncovered by the police, following an incident that occurred on March 31, 2026 in the Shijak area.
According to the investigation, a 32-year-old man was forcibly taken by three people and transported to a private location in Xhafzotaj, where he was held for several hours under pressure. The perpetrators are suspected of using violence and constant threats in order to obtain a sum of money.
Police identified and arrested Hysen Neza, 33, and Kevin Neza, 25, as part of the group, while another person, JN, 28, was declared wanted.
The intervention came after the victim's own report, which led to the organization of an operation codenamed "Shadows" by the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector, in cooperation with the Operational Force and "Eagles", under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office.
During the operation, 5 vehicles, 5 mobile phones and a sum of money were seized, which are suspected to be related to this criminal activity and will be used as evidence in further investigations.
Authorities continue their search to capture the third person and fully document the incident.
"A police operation codenamed "Shadows" has been finalized in Tirana, leading to the unraveling of a serious case of kidnapping and violence for financial gain.
According to the official announcement, three people are suspected of having forcibly taken a 32-year-old man on March 31, 2026, transporting him to a private location in Xhafzotaj, where they held him for several hours under threat and physical violence, with the aim of extorting a sum of money.
The operation was carried out by the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector, in cooperation with the Operational Force and the "Eagle" Special Force, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, following a report made by the victim.
As part of the police intervention, two of the suspected perpetrators, citizens HN, 33 years old and KN, 25 years old, were arrested, while another, JN, 28 years old, a resident of Xhafzotaj, was declared wanted.
During the operation, authorities seized 5 vehicles, 5 mobile phones, a sum of money, and other illegal items that are expected to serve as material evidence in the investigation.
"The police inform that work continues to capture the wanted person and to fully document the incident, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action ," the police announced.
