Three Albanians have been arrested by the Italian police for several thefts.
Early Friday morning, law enforcement officers in Italy's South Tyrol arrested three people who are said to be responsible for five thefts.
The arrests were made on the basis of an arrest warrant from the Bolzano public prosecutor's office.
The investigation began in February 2024, after several thefts in South Tyrol. However, law enforcement was able to quickly identify the perpetrators and monitor their movements.
During the investigations, a total of five thefts were documented, including a serious robbery in Brunico on April 18 of this year.
The criminal group consists mainly of Albanian citizens and is specialized in residential burglaries during the evening and late hours of the night. A member of the gang, considered a central figure, recruited other helpers from other regions of Italy, especially Campania. This group used rental cars to go to South Tyrol and carry out the thefts.
By taking quick action, law enforcement officers hope to have prevented further crimes. Surveillance cameras are cited as an important tool for catching the perpetrators involved.
As a result, officers were able to document the activities of the suspects and arrest them within a few months.
