47-year-old Ledovik Syziu was injured after a quantity of homemade explosives was planted in his car.
The incident happened in the early hours of this morning in his apartment in Mirdita. Syziu went to start the car, but immediately there was an explosion in the back of it.
In his testimony to the police, the 47-year-old stated that he has no knowledge of the perpetrators or the causes of the incident. His family members are also at the police station, with the aim of learning about any incident that the injured person may have had.
It is learned that the 47-year-old is out of danger for his life, while according to the police, Ledovik Syziu was known as a problem in his village, for which the police are investigating if there was any recent conflict between him and any residents of the area.
"Around 08:05, the operational hall of the Mirdita Police Station was notified that in the village of Malaj, in the yard of the residence of citizen LS, at the moment this citizen started the vehicle, an explosion occurred in the back of the vehicle.
As a result, the LS citizen has been injured and is receiving medical help at the Mirdita Regional Hospital out of danger to life.
Police services and the investigative team immediately went to the scene.
From the first actions, it is suspected that handicraft items exploded.
Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, the investigative group is intensively following the work to clarify the circumstances of the event and to secure evidence in order to clarify and legally document the case ," the police announced.
