New details have been revealed regarding the finding of a skull that was in a plastic bag near the cemetery of the city of Berat yesterday.
Media sources indicate that it was the Burdulliasi cemetery employee, Tomorr Nure, who found and opened the bag. He says that inside the bag was not only the skull but also other parts of the bones. Nure stated that the bag also contained several parts of ribs and limbs and that socks were worn on the leg bones.
The cemetery employee also claimed that it was around 11:00 - 11:15 minutes when he was cleaning and found a plastic bag covered with leaves. After opening it, Nure declares that she saw the skull and parts of body bones and was horrified.
Further, he stated that after finding the bones, he immediately notified the person in charge and the police, who came and took the bones. Explaining the method of exhuming the bones, Nure said that the bones do not belong to the Burdullias cemetery and that they were not exhumed from any grave of this cemetery.
As he also showed the place where he found the plastic bag with the skull and bones inside it, he claims that it was brought and thrown outside by someone, who after throwing it covered it with leaves so that it would not be found quickly.
The skull and remains, found at noon yesterday in the Burdulliasi cemetery in Berat, have been transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana, where through the scientific methods that will be carried out and DNA, her identity will be determined. The skull belongs to a woman and was also exposed to flames.
The police are working through the security cameras of houses and businesses around the cemetery and at the exit of the national road, to discover the identity of the person who threw the bag with the skull inside near the cemetery. Similarly, inside the cemetery it seems that there are cameras installed, but it is not confirmed whether these cameras work or even if they work and have a sufficient range to see the surface where the bag was thrown.
