An anti-drug operation was conducted today in Lezhë, while 436 cannabis plants were destroyed by burning.
The 13th phase of this mega-operation has been finalized, as a result of controls in forested areas, in difficult mountainous terrain, with services from the ground and with drones.
436 narcotic cannabis sativa plants that were found cultivated on the ground, in the villages of Fregen and Gjobardhaj, Ungrej administrative unit, Lezhë, are destroyed by burning. During the previous phases of this mega-operation, in different areas of Lezhë district, a total of 16,573 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were destroyed.
Lezha Police Services, equipped with drones, have continued the intensive checks on the ground and from the air, with priority in the deep mountainous areas, with risk in terms of the cultivation of narcotic plants, in implementation of the nationwide operational plan, with a focus on prevention, ascertainment and the crackdown on this criminal activity.
From these checks, the 13th phase of the police mega-operation coded "Imazhi" was finalized, as a result of which, in 2 villages of the Hungarian administrative unit, a total of 436 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated on public property, specifically :
- in the village of Fregen, 300 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated;
- in the village of Gjobardhaj, 136 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated.
The narcotic plants, after performing the procedural actions, were destroyed by burning.
The Police of Lezha, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Lezha, continues the investigative actions, with the aim of identifying and arresting the author(s) of this criminal activity. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
