75 kg of drugs seized at the Greek-Albanian border, 54-year-old from Albania arrested

Greek police have seized 75 kg of cannabis near the Greek-Albanian border. The operation was carried out yesterday afternoon by the anti-drugs sector of the Igoumenitsa police.

The driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old Albanian, was arrested by the Greek police.

During the inspection of a vehicle coming from the border and intending to enter Greek territory, 3 bags containing 51 packages with 74 kg 804 grams of marijuana were found and seized. A vehicle and a mobile phone were also seized.

Since September, Greek police have seized around 775 kg of marijuana suspected of coming from Albania. The cases have been identified in Igoumenitsa by land and sea, as well as in Ioannina, Thessaloniki and Kos.
