After a year in abeyance, the Special Court passed the criminal case against Dritan Rexhepi and the organized criminal group, who are accused of the kidnapping and murder of Jan Prenga, for trial today.
We remind you that the investigation started for Rexhepi, arrested in Ecuador, Gentian Funiq, who is behind bars in Spain, as well as for other members of this group; Geraldo Martini, Aldo Majnishta, Martin Bleta, Korado Geshtenja and Artan Docaj.
Meanwhile, the trial for Altin Hajri on the same charges has been suspended until his arrest.
How did the event happen?
Jan Prenga was kidnapped in Kamez on January 17, 2020, and his body has not been found for almost 3 years. The 'Golden' complex in Shijak turned into the scene of the crime for Jan Prenga, while the police proved the presence of his body through film footage and put Leonard Hajri, Bajram Hajri, Festim Bexhdili, Olsi Turja and Ardian Docaj behind bars, while today only gardener Festim Bexhdili remains in prison. He was executed by order of the "heads" of the gang, because of a quantity of 283 kg of cocaine, which Jan Prenga's brother, Astri, was holding hostage in England and did not tell him where he had taken it.
