Two foreign nationals have been arrested by the Fier Police, suspected of engaging in prostitution in a rented apartment in the city.
Yekaterina Yeryomenko, 30, from Kazakhstan, and Assiya Amanbek, 31, from Turkey, were arrested. According to the official announcement, they had adapted the apartment for the development of illegal activity.
The operation was carried out by specialists from the Trafficking Investigation Section at the Fier Police Department, in cooperation with the Special Operations Force, after investigations conducted using special methods.
During the search of the apartment, the police seized 2,800 euros and 29,000 lek, suspected of having been obtained from this activity, as well as 5 mobile phones that will be subject to further verification.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Fier Court of First Instance for the criminal offenses of "Prostitution" and "Maintaining premises for prostitution".
