The Interpol of the National Police of Colombia (Dijín) and the US DEA report that they have arrested the Albanian Klodian Zaimi, known in the world of crime as "El Gringo".
Zaimi's main function was to receive money from the sale of cocaine in the United States and occasionally in Europe, to clean it and send it to the criminal organization in Colombia.
According to "Dijín", this man was responsible for coordinating the shipment of large quantities of narcotics from the ports of Cartagena to Central America and the United States using speedboats.
The cocaine hydrochloride shipped was produced in the department of Valle del Cauca and transported by land to the Caribbean coast. Once there, members of the organization are responsible for shipping the alkaloid from the sea to its final destination," Dijín said in a statement.
In this operation, another person was also caught, whose identity is not disclosed. Both 'El Gringo' and the other captor are wanted by a U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on charges of money laundering, drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit a felony.
