Four people were arrested today, after it was discovered by the police that they had cultivated cannabis in the village of Shëngjergj, in Zall Bastar of Tirana.
Idajet Gjediku, Jednor Gjediku and Elvis Elezi and Fatima Gjediku, the latter 60 years old, have been taken into custody.
It is also reported that the mayor of Shengjin village, 2 employees of the Agency of Protected Areas and 1 police officer have been prosecuted for abuse of office.
Police notification
In implementation of the measures of the "Clean Territory" operational plan, the coded police operation "Mountain" was finalized for the attack on a case of cultivation of narcotic plants in the village of Shengjin.
The operation was carried out by Police Station No. 4. 4 citizens, suspected perpetrators of the cultivation of narcotic plants, were arrested. 4 citizens (mayor of Shengjin village, 3 employees of the Agency of Protected Areas and 1 police officer) are being prosecuted for abuse of office.
Services of Police Station No. 4, in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of the Tirana Police Surveillance Agency, following the work for the prevention, identification and attack of criminal activity in the field of cultivation of narcotic plants, after a genuine investigative work of several months, organized and finalized the coded police operation "Mountain".
Within this operation:
- citizens F. Gj., 60 years old, I. Gj., 37 years old, J. Xh., 34 years old, and EE, 30 years old, all residents of Tirana, were arrested in the act for the criminal offense "Cultivation of narcotic plants ”, carried out in collaboration;
-proceedings started in free status for citizens A. Gj., 56 years old, head of Shengjin village, Zall Bastar; RK, 57 years old and RL, 59 years old, employee (guard) of the Protected Areas Agency.
Also, in cooperation with the AMP, the procedure has started in a state of freedom for the Police employee (SPZ) ED, 38 years old.
The 4 arrested citizens are suspected of having cultivated narcotic plants in the village of Shengjin, Zall Bastar, while the citizens who were processed at large are suspected to have consumed elements of the criminal offense "Abuse of duty" through their actions and inactions. A part of the narcotic plants was destroyed by burning, while the rest was seized as material evidence.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office.
