Durim Bami, one of the most wanted names of the crime boss, was arrested in Dubani today, June 12.
The news has been confirmed by the State Police.
"As a result of the immediate exchange of information, between the structures of the State Police and counterparts in the United Emirates, Durim Bami, 45 years old, was arrested in Dubai, with the aim of extradition to Albania," says a police announcement to the media.
On May 15 of this year, the Special Court sentenced Bam to prison. He is charged with several serious criminal offences, such as providing conditions and material means to commit murder, organized criminal group, cultivation of narcotic plants and committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or organized criminal group.
According to the SPAK file, Durim Bami is accused of having provided the conditions to kill Arben Ndoka, Tori Xhečuka and Erigers Mihas, as well as being involved in the cultivation of cannabis in Nikla's Tapestry. On the other hand, according to the file of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Durim and Valter Bami were pursued by 16 other people who wanted to kill them.
He will be extradited to our country, as the Special Court of First Instance Against Corruption and Organized Crime has set the security measure "Prison" for Bam.
Who is Durim Bami?
Durim Bami is known by everyone as Nikla's "strongman", which has disturbed Albanian politics. In 2015, Bani was attacked in his "BMË X5" type car with license plate AA 858 IS, but there were no injuries. On March 3, 2015, he was arrested by the Police after the accusations of Tom Doshi, that the former Speaker of the Assembly, Ilir Meta, had ordered an assassination attempt to execute him through Durim Bami, against the payment of 500,000 euros. On July 4, 2018, he was released by the Court, after the latter sentenced him to 1 year in prison, but to serve the sentence in "probationary service".
Likewise, the 41-year-old was suspected in 2004 of an attempted murder. He is suspected of the murder of Erzen H. and Hasan K. Durim Bami was also investigated for the murder of Artan Santos, and turns out to be the last person to have met the citizen Enver Stafuka.
Of course, there were interests at play that combined politics, business and the world of crime, contracted to carry out this murder. And precisely the names that had knowledge and according to the information were directly involved in this event, were also some characters of the file 'Metamorfoza 3'. At that time, the 'Nikla Gang' was charged and as stated in the investigative file, two of the members of this group were kept under surveillance. It is about Durim Bami and Marklen Haka. Afterwards, the police also carried out checks in an area known as the base of some of the most crooked characters of the world of crime, where it was clear that characters who knew the territory well were involved.
Referring to the investigative file, the prosecution has also suspected the 'King of gambling', Ervis Martinaj. During checks in several warehouses in the Fushë-Kuqe area, two spacesuits were found, which were suspected to belong to the executioners of Artan Santos. Some of Martinaj's family members were accompanied and interrogated, but they were released and the prosecution closed the investigation for Ervis Martinaj by not proving his involvement in this event.
Kujtim Çela, the brother of the drug baron Gëzim Çela, was also questioned. Dozens of police forces landed in Fushë-Kuqe exercising checkpoints after suspicions that Santos' killers took refuge there.

Tom Doshi's godfather, gets rich with income from the "business" he did with cobras, dynamite, threats, trafficking, fines, looting of property and as the boss of paid murders. Enver Stafuka was a member of Nikla's gang, headed by Durim Bami.
According to information from the State Police, Fushë-Kuqja was not only the base of Ervis Martinaj, but also of Durim Bami. This character had under his patronage a group of shooters from the area of Fushë-Kuqe to Nikël whom he trained at a very young age.
