GJKKO leaves 3 police chiefs in prison!
The Special Court has confirmed the security measures of "prison arrest" for the Chief of Crimes at the Himara Police Station, Shkëlzen Ruska , the Chief of Crimes at the Lushnja Police Station, Ervis Alisinanaj , and the former Operational Forces officer, Erdit Hazizaj .
The Special Prosecution Office SPAK launched an operation in several cities across the country while providing security measures for 4 officers suspected of being involved in the crime.
In custody are the crime bosses of Himara, Shkëlzen Ruska, and that of Lushnja, Ervis Alisinanaj. The latter was dismissed in 2022 by the Director of the State Police at the time, Gledis Nano, after the tragic incident, where police officer Arjan Tase hit and killed a 7-year-old girl on Potami beach in Himara.
Former police officer Erdit Hazizaj, who left the police force in 2022, has also been arrested. He ran for the Municipality of Roskovec. Meanwhile, the head of the Border Police Commissariat in Saranda, Elvis Dervishi, has been declared wanted.
SPAK "dismantled" two criminal groups, active in the 2019-2021 timeframe, one of which was allegedly led by Kristo Qirici, the brother of Edmond Papa, the businessman executed in December 2022 in Tirana.
Although SPAK received the green light for 10 arrests from the Court, the State Police found and handcuffed only three of them. They are accused of having exploited the position of the State Police, assisting the leaders of the criminal group with constant advice and information for the smooth functioning of the criminal activity, as well as creating security for the members of the criminal group.
The charges against the 4 officers:
-Shkëlzen Ruska is accused of cannabis cultivation, organized criminal group, abuse of office and commission of criminal offenses by a criminal organization.
-The head of the Crimes Unit at the Lushnja Police Station, Ervis Alisinanaj, has also been arrested on the same charges. The latter is also charged with exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions.
-Erdit Hazizaj is the third person arrested by AMP. He is accused by SPAK of drug trafficking, cultivation of narcotic plants, structured group, abuse of office, etc.
-Elvis Dervishi is accused of drug trafficking, organized criminal group, committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and organized criminal group, and abuse of office.
