Another serious event is being recorded this Tuesday. American Brendon Saporito, who stabbed his partner Sandra Saporito to death in Shkodra a few months ago, committed suicide today in the Shkodra Penitentiary.
Brendon was found hanging in his detention cell.
The institution's employees took him to the emergency room with signs of life, where medical staff provided him with first aid.
Despite immediate intervention from Koplik Hospital and the efforts of the medical staff, the detainee did not manage to survive.
Saporito was in the Shkodra Penitentiary Institution due to the decision of the Shkodra First Instance Court, which had assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", suspected of the criminal offense "Murder due to family relations".
He was arrested on May 2 for the murder of his wife and was brought to the institution on 04.05.2025.
