The Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction has upheld the security measures of "prison arrest" for Fatjon Bushgjoka and Petrit Çakrri. They are accused of the murder of 23-year-old Renis Dobra on the evening of July 8, and only a day later the young man's body was found near Lake Shkopet.
During the hearing, lawyers Arber Qehaja, Fred Gjoni, and Halit Zhuka engaged in heated arguments with prosecutor Etien Kapo. The two suspects also argued with the prosecutor regarding the evidence that casts doubt on their involvement in the crime.
The lawyers have requested that the arrest and immediate release of the two suspects be declared illegal. At the end of the hearing, the court approved the prosecution's request, leaving the suspects in prison and setting a deadline for collecting additional evidence to prove the charges.
Kristi and Aleksandër Bushgjokaj are also wanted for this incident. According to the investigation, the perpetrators followed the young man from the town of Burrel and on the way to his apartment, they raped and strangled him.
Then, to hide the crime, they threw his vehicle into Lake Shkopet with the dead body inside. The suspects kidnapped and strangled the 23-year-old with a rope and tried to hide the body but failed after the body was found in the bay of Lake Shkopet.
