Today, the next trial took place against the 39-year-old Albanian, Kastriot Cenko, who killed his wife with a hammer and hid her body in the attic, an event that occurred in Greece in November 2024.
The defendant claimed in court that he was furious and apologized to his children and his wife's family. The victim's mother testified that her daughter worked hard because her husband did not bring money home, while the next hearing of the trial will be held next month.
Kastriot Cenko, in front of the black squads, said that he was in a serious condition when he committed the crime.
"I was in a state of rage, I was not in a calm state of mind as the indictment says, there was no premeditation. Everything happened at that moment. I want to apologize deeply to my children for depriving them of their mother and a deep apology to her family," he said.
The mother of the late Alba also gave testimony.
"The defendant had called me and pretended to be worried about my daughter. He told me he had taken the suitcase and left. I wondered if she had really left for Albania. I asked my nephew 'where is your mother' and he said 'I don't know' ," she said.
"It shouldn't have come to this. My daughter told me she was sad, that she worked hard and that she was working three jobs because he wasn't bringing money home. She told me she wasn't having a good time at home, but not that she intended to abandon her husband and children. I don't want anything to happen to her, I want him to give my daughter back. Can I?" she said with tears in her eyes.
