After Lezha, gambling is also cracked down on in Tirana; 5 owners are arrested

After the operation conducted in Lezha, controls on gambling have also been extended to Tirana, where several premises adapted for this illegal activity have been discovered.

In the capital, police have intervened in four different environments, while five people have ended up in handcuffs: Xhuljan Kaloshi, Klajment Çurri, Redion Muka, Edmond Ndreka and Klodjan Vishkurti.

Two other people are wanted. According to the investigation, they appear to have had roles as owners, administrators or employees in these facilities.

During the operation, 16 computers used for gambling, poker tables and other equipment used to organize illegal activity were seized.

Meanwhile, we recall that as a result of the discovery of gambling in Lezha, the Lezha police director, Islor Islami, was dismissed.

From "Pamphlet's" confidential sources within the police, it is confirmed that the gambling dens that were discovered in Lezha are the property of Ylli Cara, the partner of the former director of the State Police, Ilir Proda.

" State Police/Operation Coded "The Fate of Games" Finalized"

The operation was carried out following information provided by the General Directorate of the State Police.

4 cases of adapting premises for the illegal development of gambling, with machines and poker tables, have been discovered in Tirana.

16 computers for gambling, tables for the game "Poker", as well as other items used for this illegal activity were seized.

5 citizens are arrested and 2 others are wanted (owners, administrators and/or employees of the premises).

Based on information provided by the General Directorate of the State Police, regarding several cases of adaptation of premises for the development of games of chance, the Police services organized and finalized the operation codenamed "Gambling Fate".

During the operation, 4 premises adapted for the illegal organization of gambling were discovered. Specifically:

-Citizen Xh. K., 34 years old, was arrested after 5 computer units were found in his premises, with which games of chance were played;

-Citizens K. Ç., 47 years old, and RM, 42 years old, were arrested, after 4 computer units used for gambling were found in the premises owned by the 47-year-old, where citizen RM was employed;

-Citizen EN, 49 years old, was arrested, and citizen LB, 32 years old, was declared wanted, after 7 computer units used for gambling were found in a facility managed by the 32-year-old, with citizen EN as an employee;

-Citizen KV, 22 years old, was arrested, and citizen FV, 60 years old, was declared wanted, after poker tables and other items suspected of being used for organizing gambling were found in a premises owned by the latter. The 22-year-old was caught red-handed attempting to destroy material evidence.

Controls against this illegal activity continue in various entities and environments.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police statement said.
