Cannabis trafficking from abroad has become a worrying phenomenon for the police, which, in addition to fighting cultivation within Albania, is now also facing the import of hashish.
This type of drug, whose market value reaches 30 Euros per gram, is mainly trafficked from countries like the USA, Canada, or Thailand.
The price it is sold for in our country is many times higher than the traditional cannabis cultivated in Albania, due to the high THC content of the trafficked drug.
In just 1 year, Tirana police have cracked down on 24 cases of trafficking in this drug.
In 21 cases, this type of cannabis has arrived in our country through the mail, while in 3 cases it has been transported in hand luggage through the airport.
Such was the case of 39-year-old Dhimitër Shehu, who you see in this photo, who was caught by anti-drug agents in the capital as soon as he arrived at Rinas Airport from Thailand with 19.4 kg of cannabis.
The drugs, as can be seen in the video, were compressed and placed in the suitcase he was traveling in, and their market value is estimated at around 550 thousand Euros. / Klan
