The Italian Marco Romeo has testified before a court in Spain regarding the murder of his ex-girlfriend, the Albanian Sibora Gagani.
The monstrous crime shocked public opinion, after the 22-year-old Albanian woman was found walled up. Sibora had been missing since 2014.
After being arrested for another murder, the Italian confessed that Sibora's body was walled up.
But in his testimony, he said that Sibora was killed by the Albanian mafia. Before the court, he said that she had borrowed 25,000 euros from her compatriots to set up a business.
But the money was stolen by some Colombians and she could not pay the debt.
The Italian said that there were four Albanians who killed Sibora and ordered him to get rid of the body.
He said he knows the name of one of the perpetrators of the crime, but refused to reveal it in court.
Marco said he is sorry for what happened, but added that he hid the body out of fear.
The Italian said he reflected on what happened and asked for mercy.
