
Among those arrested who are accused of arms and drug trafficking from Latin America is the Albanian Fatos Markaj, who, according to the Belgian police, turns out to be one of the people who led the criminal group with which 12 Albanians were arrested.
This is Markaj, the 51-year-old also happens to be the owner of the Pimpelhof cafe in Antwerp's Seefhoek.
It was in this environment that the members of the group used to gather to do their shopping for arms and drug trafficking.
The Albanian's bar was one of 19 places where the police raided on Wednesday morning, by the Belgian police.
Fatos Markaj also had a pizzeria very close to the bar, while he was also certified as a football coach.
In this action, coordinated with the Albanian police, 275 Belgian police officers were engaged.
