The operational services and those for the investigation of serious crimes of the Lezhë Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Lezhë Police Station, following the national mega-operation "Rule of Law" and based on the information provided by the police intelligence, that a citizens produced remote-controlled mines to sell to criminal groups, organized and finalized the coded police operation "New Start".
In the city of Lezha, the Police services located the suspected citizen Ilir Gjoka, who could transport mines by remote control, and immediately intervened to stop him. During the search, this citizen was found hidden in his body, 3 remote-controlled mines, with C4 explosives, for remote detonation, and a small amount of cannabis sativa narcotic. From the investigations so far, it is suspected that this citizen assembled the mines himself, with the purpose of selling them to criminal groups, for committing crimes against the person.
At the end of the procedural actions, the citizen I. Gj., 45 years old, resident of Lezhë, was arrested in the act, and 3 mines (mounted with mobile phones) and the amount of cannabis were seized as material evidence. In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, the work continues for the complete documentation of the circumstances of the case, as well as for the identification of other citizens involved in this criminal activity. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Lezhë, for further actions", the police informs.
