Six members of an Albanian-Turkish crime gang have been sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison after their drug supply chain was dismantled following a routine stop and search in Tonbridge.
All the men played roles in a cocaine ring, which stretched from the south-west of England to areas that also included Tunbridge Wells.
On February 6, 2024, patrols initially stopped a vehicle in connection with suspicious activity on The Ridgeway, Tonbridge. The search resulted in the seizure of four bags of cocaine, mobile phones and the arrest of the driver, Cosmin Vlas.
A little over a month later, on March 14, Georgi Dimitrov was stopped on Quarry Hill Road, where officers found 10 bags of cocaine hidden inside.
Evidence linking the two men led to a series of search warrants in the early hours of May 10, at addresses linked to three other suspects in Tunbridge Wells.
One of these arrest warrants led to the discovery of five bags of cocaine stuffed into a pair of jeans in an apartment where Mehmed Mola lived. He had thrown 10 more bags out the window, but was stopped and these were also found by officers.
Nearby properties, linked to Saber Arnaut and Sait Arnaut, were also searched, leading to their arrest and the discovery of more quantities of drugs and cash.
At the same time, a search warrant was also executed in Ascham Road, Swindon, Wiltshire where Leutrim Bardhosh lived, who was also arrested. He was carrying two phones that controlled the drug line, which were seized.
Vlas and Mola bought phone top-up vouchers from shops in Kent before sending them to Bardhoshi, so that he could top up the devices without being connected through CCTV queries.
All six men were charged and went on to plead guilty to being involved in the supply of cocaine.
On January 27, 2025, Bardhoshi, 24, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court to five years and nine months in prison.
Vlas, 34, and Mola, 22, were each sentenced to three years and five months.
Saber Arnaut, 27, was imprisoned for two years and nine months.
Sait Arnaut, 24, and Dimitrov, 25, from north London each received two years and seven months.
