A 46-year-old Albanian wounded an Athens police officer with an ax during an operation to capture him. According to the information, everything happened around 19:30 on Wednesday when the authorities received a complaint about a person who was in a house on Theoklitou street in Neo Kosmos and shot in the air.
Immediately, the forces of the DIAS team went to the scene, specifically the Acropolis team, where the woman who had called the police was waiting for them with her son, both in a state of shock.
When the police arrived, the 46-year-old man of Albanian origin entered the house and began to see what was happening hidden behind a curtain. Then, according to the information, DIAS operatives pretended to leave the scene, but two of them went out to the balcony of the house, waiting for the perpetrator to come out again.
That's how it happened.
The Albanian went out on the balcony, but instead of a gun, he was carrying a big ax. At first sight, he attacked the policemen and slightly wounded one of them in the hand, but then he was arrested.
From the investigations carried out at the scene, a stun gun and a quantity of cannabis were found. The Albanian has a criminal record in 2019.
