One year after the murder of Egli Proga/ Korça Prosecution postpones the

The Korça Prosecution Office has decided to postpone the investigation deadlines for the incident in which Egli Proga lost his life by three months, extending them until November 11, 2025.

According to the records, the request to the court was made on August 11, one day after the end of the 1-year investigation period.

It is learned that the prosecution has sent the DVR of the "Strobska" bar to Italy for expertise, in the hope of restoring deleted footage that could help shed light on what happened inside the bar.

At the same time, cameras from a nearby market were also sent for analysis.

Denis Meçe, the suspected perpetrator of the incident, claimed that he was also hit inside the bar by Leonidha Guçe, the owner of the bar, who denies such a thing.

Meanwhile, eyewitness Andi Shkulaku has given contradictory testimony, sometimes supporting the version of the suspected perpetrator and sometimes that of the bar owner.

If the deleted footage is not restored by November 11, there is a possibility that Denis Meçe will gain freedom, with the security measure changing from "arrest in prison" to a more lenient measure.

The murder of Egli Proga a year ago sparked heated debate and clashes between the police and the prosecution over the criminal offense the alleged perpetrator is accused of. The victim's sister has also raised strong accusations about the way the investigation into the case has been conducted.
