It is learned that on the day of the incident, the victim Erald Xhejo, together with a friend, went to the village of Pirg to get a haircut at a barbershop near the place where the murder took place. They saw the perpetrator passing by in a car and whistled at him in order to clarify the matter.
He stopped, got out of the car and started arguing while he pulled out a knife. The victim in these conditions took a chair from the bar's yard to defend himself by placing it in front of his body, but as he took steps back, he was tripped and at that moment the perpetrator stabbed him. The entire incident was filmed by the bar's security cameras.
How did the crime in Maliq happen?
The serious incident occurred on Thursday afternoon (August 14) in the outdoor area of a bar in the village of Pirg. The two young men are suspected of having had a previous fight and had met to make amends. Instead of making amends, they ended up in a physical fight, where a cold weapon was fatally used. The perpetrator was injured, but not with a cutting tool.
He is suspected of having gone armed with a knife to the bar and after being treated at the hospital, he was arrested. Police have seized the phones of the two minors to determine the possible motive.
According to police, the perpetrator and the victim had previously had a conflict between them. The two teenagers met to clarify things, but they argued among themselves and then physically confronted each other. The victim died as a result of the stab wounds.
Off-camera, witnesses say the suspected perpetrator is known as a "mobile" teenager who occasionally causes problems with his peers.
People arrested for the incident
Eight people have been arrested by Maliq police in connection with the incident that occurred on Thursday afternoon (August 14), where 14-year-old Erald Xhejo was stabbed to death by his peer outside a bar in the village of Pirg. The 14-year-old perpetrator, his father, E. G and his uncle RG, 4 minors and 34-year-old Flori Çela have been arrested.
After committing the crime, the perpetrator, who was also injured, attempted to leave in a vehicle with the 34-year-old, who was present when the fight occurred.
The minor's father and uncle are accused of acts that obstruct the truth after hiding the knife used in the crime. Specifically, his uncle took the knife used in the murder from the scene, washed it, and then hid it, obstructing the investigation.
The juvenile perpetrator is charged with intentional homicide and reckless driving.
The four arrested minors were also present at the conflict and are accused of attempting to obstruct the discovery of the truth. 34-year-old Flori Çela is accused of failing to report a crime.
