A 45-year-old woman from the village of Cukalat, Dimal municipality, ended her life by drinking phototoxin.
45-year-old Flutura Brahushi, who lived in difficult economic conditions, was found by her 74-year-old husband. Even though she was immediately transported to the hospital in Berat, she could not be saved from death.
According to neighbor Nexhmije Zeqo, the 45-year-old was being treated for depression. Her life has been more suffering and difficulties. Butterfly was divorced from a first marriage, where she had two children. After the divorce, she married another person about 30 years older than herself, with whom she had two children.
Marriage for the second time with another older person seems to have been the reason that the children with the first husband did not accept her as their mother. This is what has brought about the aggravation of the psychological condition.
"She was a very good person, a worker at the top, but she was sick, she had time. She was depressed, she fainted since she was with her first child. She worked with dogs and chickens and her husband wouldn't leave her just because he knew she was sick. Her husband is 74 years old. She was divorced, she gave birth to a son and a daughter with this man here and they had a great time. He was in a difficult situation because his first wife died, he was ill, he went into debt, and then he got this. They were both great workers. They were both engaged in animal husbandry.
The 45-year-old lived in a dilapidated apartment and in difficult economic conditions" , said Nexhmije Zeqo.
