The suspected perpetrator of the crime is said to have had an intimate relationship with the victim, who was found dead in her burned-out apartment in neighborhood no. 1 of the city of Pogradec.
He denied having any connection to the incident, telling reporters: "I'm not the murderer, not at all."
The woman was found dead this morning in the apartment, which had been engulfed in flames.
Kozeta Teço was killed by the young man and then he set fire to the house, so that the event would appear accidental.
