An operation against the Albanian mafia devoted to the cultivation and trafficking of marijuana has been developed in Spain.
The "Mossos" special team has launched this morning since 6 am, in different parts of Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre, a major operation, where several checks have been made under the direction of investigators from the Investigation Division Criminal (DIC) of the Mosso with the cooperation of dozens of intervention agents from the Regional Operational Resources Area (ARRO) in Salou.
So far, two people have been arrested, while checks have also been carried out in the other municipalities of Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre.
The objective of the investigation is to arrest those responsible for the marijuana plantations and the network dedicated to the international sale of the drug that grows throughout Catalonia, a country that has become Europe's garden for drugs that then travel across the continent.
Although almost every day all Investigation Units of police stations throughout the country carry out operations to dismantle marijuana plantations, today's operation aims to attack the upper part of the Albanian organization that controls the marijuana traffic.
Salou, due to the area and the climate, is one of the places where the heads of these organizations, who, although not the main leaders, have positions of power in the marijuana mafia, choose to be and live there.
