Tirana Police have conducted a large-scale anti-drug operation, based on 30 arrest warrants issued by the prosecution.
According to data from the investigation, the action targets several criminal groups that have long been operating in the sale and distribution of narcotics in various areas of the capital. The investigations have been followed by the Tirana Anti-Drug Sector for several months.
The starting point of the operation is related to previous proceedings. From the analysis of communications seized in those cases, investigators have obtained evidence implicating other persons in the same criminal activity.
During the investigation phase, the Anti-Drugs structure used proactive methods. In some cases, simulated purchases were carried out to directly document the sale of narcotics and identify the distribution network.
Up to this stage, authorities have not made public the number of people arrested. There is also a lack of official data on the quantities of narcotics seized during the operation.
