Berat police have cracked down on a structured group that was involved in the distribution of narcotics in the city, arresting three people and placing another under "house arrest".
According to the investigations, the criminal activity was carried out in an organized manner and focused on the sale of cocaine in doses in different areas of Berat. The group had been under investigation for about six months by specialized police structures, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office.
Citizens SS, 46 years old, AA, 30 years old, and TB, 38 years old, were arrested, while KS, 18 years old, was placed under house arrest. All of them are residents of the "Çlirim" neighborhood.
During searches conducted in their homes and in the 46-year-old's vehicle, police found a quantity of cocaine divided into dozens of doses ready for sale, and seized 7 mobile phones and a vehicle.
"A criminal group that was selling hard drugs was hit in Berat.
3 members of the group are arrested.
The security measure "House arrest" is executed for another member.
Quantities of cocaine, 7 cell phones and 1 vehicle were seized.
Specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section, as a result of an investigation conducted for 6 months, in coordination with the Berat Prosecutor's Office, with the aim of documenting the criminal activity of several citizens who, in an organized manner, sold hard drugs, in doses, in Berat, finalized the operation codenamed "Prova".
Within the framework of this operation, for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", committed in collaboration, the following were executed in cooperation with the Special Operations Forces and "Eagle":
-security measure "Arrest in prison", for citizens SS, 46 years old, AA, 30 years old and TB, 38 years old;
-security measure "House arrest", for citizen KS, 18 years old, all residents of the "Çlirim" neighborhood.
During the investigation period, evidence was obtained that 4 citizens were providing and selling narcotics (mainly cocaine) in doses in different neighborhoods of the city.
From the searches carried out in their homes, as well as in the 46-year-old's vehicle, a quantity of the narcotic substance Cocaine was found divided into dozens of doses ready for sale.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Berat Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police statement said.
