Durrës Police have provided details regarding yesterday's action in Shkozet, Durrës, where two people were arrested for illegal possession of weapons.
According to the police, Arbi Haxhiu and Aldi Mustafa have been arrested. He was caught red-handed while moving around with a firearm and a cartridge in his mouth ready to shoot on the streets of Durres, raising suspicions of his involvement in illegal and violent activities.
He is considered a high-risk person with previous criminal records. Mustafa is also known as part of the criminal group known as the "Rrumi i Shijakut Group". Aleksandër Laho, also known as Pëllumb Muharremi or Rrumi i Shijakut, is a well-known figure in Albanian justice and suspected of being part of organized crime.
His name came to the fore after a mafia assassination in November 2019 in Shkozet, where he was traveling with former prosecutor Arian Ndoja. During the investigation into this assassination, evidence of corruption and property falsification in Lalzi Bay was uncovered. A video recorded on a phone by Rrumi himself, where he negotiated a bribe with a public official, became key evidence for the SPAK investigation.
"As part of the implementation of the tasks assigned by the General Director to prevent and crack down on illegal possession of weapons and the capture of high-risk social persons, in continuation of the continuous work and successive strikes for this purpose, yesterday evening the structures of the Durrës Local Police Directorate and those of the Durrës Police Commissariat successfully conducted and finalized another high-risk police operation, codenamed "The next Gun".
During the operation, 2 citizens were arrested and handcuffed, one of whom was considered highly dangerous, specifically citizens AM, 39 years old, and AH, 23 years old, both residents of Durrës, who at the time of their arrest were found to be in possession of a pistol firearm, with a cartridge in the chamber ready to fire.
39-year-old AM, a person of high social risk, with a significant criminal record in the field of crimes against the person and illegal possession of weapons. This citizen was wanted by the police, suspected of being the author of the incident that occurred on 13.08.2025, in neighborhood no. 14, Durrës, where explosives were placed in the apartment of citizen I. Gj.
The maximum commitment and dedication of the local structures of the Durrës District Police, in cooperation with the Local Directorate for Border and Migration, as well as with the support of the General Directorate of the State Police, has made it possible for the tourist season in the Durrës district to continue without any problems in terms of order and security.
"I take this opportunity to guarantee the citizens of the Durrës district that the structures of the Durrës Local Police Directorate continue with intense investigative actions to clarify any criminal incident that occurred previously, to capture wanted persons and to increase the parameters of the safety of citizens' lives and property," said Police Director Vilson Bala.
