Details have emerged from the action carried out this evening by the State Police in the Shkozet area, in Durrës. Two highly dangerous people, Aldo Mustafa and Arbi Haxhiu, have been arrested after a surprise operation by the law enforcement forces.
The two detainees are not unknown names to Albanian justice. Police sources indicate that they have previously been under investigation and arrested for illegal possession of weapons. In particular, Aldo Mustafa has a loaded criminal record: in 2023 he was caught with a weapon and was suspected of preparing to commit a revenge murder, after TNT had previously been placed in his vehicle.
Mustafa has also been involved in another serious criminal episode, when he was arrested in 2021 for attempted murder. He is known to be part of the criminal group known as the "Rrumi i Shijakut" and has a dark past with convictions in Germany for "Threats" and "Production and sale of narcotics", where he received a sentence of 10 years in prison.
The operation in Shkozet is seen as part of police actions to crack down on organized crime elements still operating in Durrës and Shijak. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether the two arrested were currently engaged in any criminal plan.
