The deadline for submitting the self-declaration forms of about 13,500 employees of the State Police, the Police Surveillance Agency and the Guard of the Republic, if they used the "SkyECC" and "EncroChat" applications earlier, has ended.
The forms were submitted 6 days before the end of the deadline, which was January 4, 2024.
It should be noted that no one from the entire police structure has admitted to having used applications related to criminal groups.
All forms will be subjected to a thorough analysis below.
Interior Minister Taulant Balla signed the order on December 3, which asks all those who are part of the security structures to declare the use of applications in the past, if they have it, along with the period and reason for use.
In fact, whatever reason the policemen wrote for using the SkyECC and EncroChat applications would cost them their job as they would be immediately expelled from the structure.
These two communication applications, in themselves, during the time they have been in operation, have not been illegal, beyond their use by criminal groups, which in fact brought about their eventual downfall. So far, there are 3 SPAK files involving police officers who are either themselves in these applications or are discussed about them.
The first was the file of the assassination group against the prosecutor Arjan Ndoja, the second was "Metamorfoza" where the former head of the Operative Oltion Bistri and recently the chief of crimes at Police Station no. 6, Dedan John. SPAK, so far, has about 70 police officers it is investigating, whose names have appeared on "SkyECC" and "EncroChat".
