An Albanian sentenced to 12 years in prison for involvement in drug trafficking has escaped from a rehabilitation center where he was in Italy.
Dorian Petoku, described as a member of the criminal group "Ponte Milvio", operating in Rome and sentenced to 12 years in prison as part of the "Grande Raçordo Anulare" operation, escaped last week.
Italian authorities report that Petoku escaped last week from the rehabilitation center in Nola, Naples.
Petoku was extradited from Albania at the request of the Italian side.
But after arriving in Italy, he didn't spend much time in prison, as doctors recommended that he should be placed in a drug rehabilitation center due to his substance addiction.
The criminal group was led by Lazio fan leader Fabrizio Piscitelli, executed in August 2019 in Rome.
But Dorian Petoku is burdened by the accusations of the Rome Prosecutor's Office for the trafficking of 7 tons of cocaine in the "Brazil low cost" investigations.
Dorian Petoku, born in Lezhë in 1988, is the cousin of Arben Zog, one of the most well-known names in Romanian drug trafficking and organized crime in the Italian capital.
