An armed incident occurred this morning in the center of Trento, where four people, two of them Albanians, were involved in a conflict that ended with one person injured.
The incident occurred at around 09:15 in the city center. The two Albanians were in a bar drinking coffee when they were approached by two other people of North African origin. The contact between them immediately degenerated into a physical confrontation.
The Albanians ran away towards a cigarette shop on Santa Croce street, but were followed by two other people. Inside the shop, the situation again erupted into violence, this time with gunfire. One person was wounded in the shoulder.
Alarmed, the store owner and her mother locked themselves in the back of the store. They escaped unharmed, although terrified by what happened.
Initially, it was thought to be a robbery, but initial investigations, according to Italian media, confirmed that the conflict between the two Albanians and the two North Africans could be related to a drug-related dispute.
All four people have been detained by police, while authorities in Trento are continuing their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances.
