Lezha police have arrested 41-year-old Ritvan Keqi in Laç, previously charged with arms trafficking.
The 41-year-old was wanted by the Tirana Police, as part of the operation codenamed "Puzzle", conducted about 3 months ago, to crack down on the trafficking of firearms from Kosovo to Albania.
Ritvan Keqi was part of a group that trafficked pistols from Kosovo to Albania. As part of this operation, 14 firearms were seized.
"A 41-year-old man wanted for firearms trafficking has been arrested in Laç.
Following the work to capture wanted citizens and bring them to justice, the services of the Operational Investigation Support Section, at the Lezha Police Department, as a result of well-organized work, captured and handcuffed the citizen:
Ritvan Keqi, 41 years old, resident of Fushë Kuqe, Kurbin.
This citizen was wanted by the Tirana Police Department, as part of the operation codenamed "Puzzle", conducted about 3 months ago, to crack down on firearms trafficking from Kosovo to Albania. As part of this operation, 14 firearms were seized.
"Other procedural actions for citizen Ritvan Keqi will be carried out by the Tirana DVP. The procedural materials were passed on to the Prosecution Office for further actions," the police announced.
