An 18-year-old girl was injured in the early hours of February 14, and in an official announcement, Tirana Police revealed details about the serious incident.
The police announced that they have arrested two people and are looking for three others, while suspicions are that the girl may have self-harmed.
The incident took place in a hotel and the arrested and wanted persons are suspected of attempting to obstruct the discovery of the truth.
The police announced that these individuals attempted to destroy evidence at the crime scene, while failing to report the crime.
"On 14.02.2026, at around 00:15, citizen NK, 18 years old, was presented to the hospital with gunshot wounds, and her life is out of danger.
"From the rapid investigative actions carried out by specialists for the Investigation of Crimes against Life and Property, as well as from the examination of security camera footage, it resulted that the incident occurred on the premises of a subject in Sauk, where the 18-year-old is suspected of having self-injured with a firearm," the Police announced.

The incident that occurred shortly after midnight, where an 18-year-old woman shot herself, is being investigated.

From the rapid investigative actions carried out by specialists for the Investigation of Crimes against Life and Property, as well as from the examination of security camera footage, it resulted that the incident occurred on the premises of a subject in Sauk, where the 18-year-old is suspected of having self-injured with a firearm.
The injured person was transported to the hospital by citizen MR (Gj) and citizen E. Gj., 24 years old.
Following the procedural actions:
-citizens V. Gj., 46 years old, and MR (Gj), 48 years old, were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Failure to report a crime" and "Actions that impede the discovery of the truth";
- citizens S. Gj., 49 years old, and E. Gj., 24 years old, were declared wanted for the criminal offenses "Failure to report a crime" and "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth", as well as citizen E. Gj., 22 years old, for the criminal offenses "Failure to report a crime", "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth" and "Unlicensed possession of weapons".
These citizens are suspected of tampering with evidence at the scene and failing to report the crime.
Work continues to locate and seize the firearm used in the incident, as well as to capture the 3 wanted citizens, with the aim of fully legally documenting the case.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
