New details have emerged from the gunshot wound to 34-year-old Juxhin Hamajezi, which occurred shortly before midnight in Tirana.
It is reported that Hamajezi stated before the investigation group that the incident occurred after a momentary conflict. He presented himself at the hospital at around 23:55 with a wound to his leg and is out of danger.
According to preliminary investigations, the injury occurred on "Aleksandër Moisiu" street, where it is suspected that a conflict over weak motives escalated into the use of a firearm.
Meanwhile, the name of Juxhin Hamajes is not unknown to the police. The 34-year-old was also injured in 2018, after being shot by former officer Santiago Malko at the "Enea" bar, in the Kinostudio area. He managed to survive that attack, although he was injured.
Hamajezi also appears to have been arrested in June 2021, suspected of trafficking Syrian migrants.
Meanwhile, the investigative group under the leadership of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office continues its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify the perpetrator or perpetrators involved.
"On 26.05.2026, at around 23:55, citizen JH, around 34 years old, was presented to the hospital for medical assistance, wounded in the leg, suspected of being shot with a firearm, and is out of danger to his life. From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the injury occurred on "Aleksandër Moisiu" street during a momentary conflict for weak motives. The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office is continuing its work to clarify the circumstances, identify and capture the perpetrator(s), " the police statement states.
