An incident took place on Sunday evening on the eve of Christmas in Heraklion, Greece, where an Albanian fired a firearm at a car parked in the Porta e Re area.
The car was hit in the back by bullets from the gun the man was carrying. The incident was reported to the police by the car owners, who identified and arrested the suspected perpetrator early in the afternoon.
According to police sources, in his statement he admitted what he did, but excused himself by saying that he was testing the gun to see if it would fire.
However, after the incident with the vehicle, this person tried to commit a robbery in a store, but did not succeed and was arrested today by the Security Police. Lawyer Manos Drakonakis, who represents the owners of the vehicle, commented on the event in a statement for ekriti.gr.
"It is unthinkable to have parked your car in a public place and not know in the morning when you wake up in what condition you will find it and if you find it. Finally, at some point the people who commit these crimes must be punished. There could be a person inside the car and at this moment we would not have any material damage, but something quite serious", said the lawyer.
