An anti-drug operation conducted by Italian authorities has led to the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine, which was being transported to Italy by truck.
The Guardia di Finanza announced that during the operation, over 111 kilograms of cocaine, divided into 100 packages, as well as 19 thousand euros in cash, were seized.
Three people, two of whom are Albanian citizens and one Romanian citizen, were arrested. They are suspected of being the truck driver and the couriers of the drug shipment.
The narcotics were discovered hidden in the truck's cabin, carefully packaged and stamped with an elephant logo.
According to an estimate by the Guardia di Finanza, after processing and distribution on the illegal market, the seized quantity of cocaine would have generated profits worth around 20 million euros.
