The deputy commissioner, Shkëlzen Gjonaj, has been dismissed from the ranks of the state police, after the publication of a video of him entering a citizen's vehicle and checking his wallet.
From the images made public, the officer can be seen taking a wallet with a small envelope with 350 thousand ALL and 50 euros.
Videos have also been published where he punches and kicks a young man inside a bar in Shkodër. AMP is reported to be carrying out procedural actions for the arrest of Shkëlzen Gjonaj.
"Following the information provided by the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, regarding the suspension from duty of the Police Deputy Commissioner Sh. Gj., on duty as a specialist of the Order Police at the Shkodër Police Station, we clarify that:
After the transmission of another case of abuse of duty by this police officer, the General Director of the State Police has signed the immediate dismissal from the State Police of the police officer Deputy Commissioner Sh. G.
In the meantime, AMP is carrying out procedural actions for his arrest", says the AMP announcement.
