The State Police has conducted a large-scale operation in the Fushë-Krujë area to capture one of the wanted persons, Ylli Zalla, who is considered highly dangerous. According to sources, numerous police forces surrounded the Zalla area after operational information about his location, but he managed to leave shortly before the intervention.
The operation was conducted in the wake of the search for Zalla, who has been wanted since November 2025 for illegal possession of weapons and suspected involvement in wider criminal activities. Despite numerous checks and increased police presence in the field, he was not arrested, and efforts to capture him continue.
Sources from the investigation group indicate that Zalla is also linked to the investigations into the assassination attempt that took place in Rinas, where Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani were killed. It is suspected that the vehicle used by the perpetrators, as well as the crime weapons, were recovered from his apartment in Fushë-Krujë, however, these are still in the verification phase and have not been officially confirmed by the authorities.
In a previous search of Zalla's apartment, police discovered a significant arsenal of weapons and explosives, which increased suspicions of his involvement in serious criminal events. According to the data, TNT cartridges, hand grenades, firearms, thousands of cartridges, remote-controlled bombs and a quantity of narcotics were seized.
Ylli Zalla is not an unknown name to the justice system. He has been arrested before, including in 2014 for making homemade bombs and weapons and narcotics-related offenses. At that time, he was also investigated for possible links to extremist groups and involvement in illegal activities, although these remain at the level of suspicion and require further verification.
He has also previously been involved in conflicts and threats, including a case against a businessman in Fushë-Krujë, which has constantly kept him in the attention of the authorities.
Police emphasize that the operation in Fushë-Krujë is part of a broader strategy to crack down on wanted persons and prevent criminal incidents. Meanwhile, sources indicate that checks in the area will continue, while investigations are also underway into persons who may have helped Zalla avoid arrest.
