
5 Albanians have been arrested in Belgium after being accused of cultivating the narcotic cannabis.
Around 1,700 marijuana plants were found in three active plantations in Liège and Sprimont, Belgium, the Liège public prosecutor's office announced in a press release on Friday morning.
Five checks were carried out on Thursday in Liège and Sprimont to crack down on drug production. The 5 Albanians began their activity at the end of 2024.
"Three active plantations were dismantled, totaling around 1,700 plants. Five people of Albanian origin were arrested ," the Liège prosecutor's office said in a statement.
Three vehicles, around 5 thousand euros, narcotics and packaging materials have also been seized. Meanwhile, Belgian police are continuing investigations to capture and arrest other persons involved.
