A 28-year-old man was arrested by the police of Elbasan for the criminal offenses "Trafficking of weapons and ammunition" and "Production and sale of narcotics".
Gerard Lengo was detained after a police search of his vehicle, in which a handgun was found.
After a search of the apartment, 1000 combat cartridges of different calibers, 4 weapon combs, 2 detonator capsules, 1 bulletproof vest and a quantity of cannabis sativa narcotic substance were found on the young man.
From the investigations so far, it is suspected that this citizen possessed these items, for the purpose of trafficking.
"As a result of an investigation carried out with proactive methods, for 3 months, under the direction of the Prosecution of the General Jurisdiction Elbasan, an investigation which was initiated on the basis of information from police intelligence, provided following the work to guarantee the rule of of the law in the territory, the Narcotics and Illegal Traffic Investigation Section of DVP Elbasan finalized the coded police operation "Calibre".
During this operation, a GL citizen, 28 years old, was caught red-handed and put in handcuffs.
In the vehicle, the police services found this citizen, 1 pistol firearm, while in the apartment they found 1000 combat cartridges of different calibers, 4 gun combs, 2 detonator capsules, 1 bulletproof vest and a quantity of cannabis sativa narcotic. From the investigations so far, it is suspected that this citizen possessed these items, for the purpose of trafficking.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance, Elbasan General Jurisdiction, for further actions, for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Production and sale of narcotics", the police informs.
