A criminal drug trafficking group has been dismantled by Italian police. According to information, this group operated in the Milan area and was led by an Albanian.
Italian police seized 70 kilograms of high-quality hashish and 75 thousand euros in cash, while two people, an Albanian and a Romanian, were arrested.
The activity was organized mainly in apartments and in a garage converted into a laboratory, where its processing took place.
A routine check turned into a major seizure in the Fulvio Testi area of Milan. Officers from the Greco Turro Police Station stopped two young men, a 21-year-old and a 26-year-old with criminal records, in Via Giolli, who were driving a car with a flat tire. The behavior of the two men and some inconsistencies in their explanations prompted the officers to investigate further.
During the personal search, the 26-year-old was found in possession of 5,800 euros in cash and a pair of keys tied to a nearby garage. This detail aroused the officers' suspicions, prompting them to search the garage.
Upon arriving at the scene, police immediately noticed a strong smell of hashish coming from inside. A search of the garage confirmed their suspicions: 20 blocks of hashish, weighing a total of 1.7 kilograms, were hidden inside, as well as 75,645 euros in cash, divided into packages.
On Sunday, the completion of another raid in Bergamo was announced with 2 more arrests, 70 kg of hashish and 75 thousand euros in cash caught red-handed, Italian media reported.
It is suspected that the trafficking network is even larger and work is underway to identify other accomplices. The operation is led by the Anti-Drug Unit of Milan and Bergamo.
