The Services of the Sector for the Investigation of Cyber Crimes, in cooperation with the Special Operations Section at the DVP Tirana, following the work to combat cyber crimes, have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Cybersnare", followed by special investigation methods.
During the operation, citizens HM, 20 years old, and JM, 18 years old (brothers), residents of Tirana, were arrested.
Thanks to the professional investigative actions by the specialists of the Cybercrime Investigation Sector, carried out during the development of this operation, the complete legal documentation of the criminal activity of the two brothers, who allegedly created profiles in applications in collaboration with each other, was made. virtual, and after communicating with different people, mostly of the female gender, they provided intimate photo and video materials, and for the non-publication of these materials, they demanded different amounts of money.
Also, from the investigative actions carried out, 2 cases of this criminal activity were legally documented, from which the two brothers benefited from a sum of money from a 14-year-old girl.
A sum of money and 2 mobile phones were seized as material evidence. The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action, the police announced.
