An explosion with explosives was recorded in the early hours of this Monday in Memaliaj.
According to preliminary data, at around 00:10, a quantity of explosive material exploded in the yard of the apartment of 67-year-old Bujtjan Kapaj in the village of Toç. The explosion caused only material damage.
The perpetrators fled the scene by vehicle, but while driving on the Krahes-Memaliaj road, near the village of Qesarat, it is suspected that they set fire to the vehicle and then fled on foot.
Police have launched searches in the area to locate them. Meanwhile, the investigation team is continuing its actions to clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrators.
"On 06.04.2026, at around 00:10, in the yard of the apartment of citizen BK, 67 years old, in the village of Toç, it is suspected that a quantity of explosive material exploded, causing only material damage.
The perpetrator(s), while leaving, on the "Krahës-Memaliaj" road, near the village of Qesarat, is suspected of having burned the vehicle they were traveling in and then fled on foot.
Police services continue to control the area to locate and capture the perpetrator(s).
"The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is intensively continuing investigative actions to clarify and fully uncover the circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s)," the police inform.
